The purpose of our group is to support the family unit of soldiers during peacetime and wartime. The money made
in fundraisers is used to support the families: family day gatherings, snacks for meetings, pay for training, guest speakers;
and soldiers: pay for specialized training, send gift packages and supplies during deployment, purchase phone cards for the
soldiers and many more things.

Recent Events
August 25 (Thursday) - FRG Meeting - Regular monthly meeting at Kansas City Armory
at 7 pm. The mobilization will be started by now. Families, spouses, parents, siblings, friends are all welcome
to attend the meeting. Pertinent information regarding the deployment will be given, and questions addressed.
Let us know your needs so we can plan future meetings accordingly. We hope to see you there!
August 12 - Departure Ceremony - 9 AM at Kaufmann Stadium. Come and support
your soldier during this ceremony. Soldiers will gather on the field, families will be seated in stands. FRG will
have tshirts for sale at the stadium for famlies. Also, special orders can be made if the size or quantity is not available
to meet your needs. We will ship them to you.
Following the Ceremony - Battallion family briefing (at the KC National Guard Armory Gymnasium))
at 1pm. You will be introduced to the command, Family Assistance Center personnel and your Family Readiness Leaders.

Upcoming Events
September 24 (Saturday) - FRG Meeting - 10:30 am at the Kansas City Armory We'll
have a short meeting with updates on the soldiers and answer any questions families have. Then we have Lee's Chinese
Martial Arts School coming in to teach self defense tactics to the families of ALL AGES! Its a fun way to learn to protect
yourself in a no pressure environment.
September 24-25 - Guard Family Team Building Workshop - The weekend workshop is for families
new to the guard or new to deployment. Please check out the Family Readiness section of www.moguard.com or call your nearest Family Assistance Center. In KC area, call Clarence or Jack at 816-922-5018.

October 20 - FRG Meeting at the Kansas City Armory, 7pm. - Regular meeting. Reps from Operation:
Military Kids will be there to work with the kids. As plans finalize, I will update the itenerary for this meeting.
October 22, 2005 - Family Readiness Group Dessert Social/Meeting in PERRYVILLE-
Meeting begins at 1pm and will be held at 20 Kiefer Lane, Perryville, MO for families in Southeast Missouri with soldiers
deployed with the 110th Engineers. There will be activities for the kids (by ParentLink/O:MK) along with one of the
unit's Lead Volunteers from KC to answer any questions you may have. Please join us and bring along your favorite dessert!
